Jennifer Lawrence is writing a screenplay with none other than Amy Schumer, and it sounds like a match made in Hollywood heaven.
We didn’t even know these two leading ladies were friends, let alone developing a project together, but Lawrence spilled the deets to TheNew York Times and got us all sorts of excited.

“We play sisters,” Lawrence said of the script. “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.”
The two met only a few months ago after Lawrence saw Trainwreck and emailed Schumer something to the extent of, “I’m in love with you.” The emails turned into texting, and the texting turned into creative meetings, and thus the script and a new powerhouse friendship was born.

“Amy and I were creatively made for each other,” Lawrence said. “We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck.”
In fact, during the interview with the Times, Lawrence stopped the interview for a moment so she could text Schumer. “Let me just text Amy and tell her that I told you,” Lawrence explained.
Schumer quickly wrote back, causing Lawrence to throw “her head back in laughter.”

Lawrence explained, “I wrote, ‘I just spilled the beans to the New York Times. Is that OK?’ And Amy wrote back, ‘That you’re gay? Totally! It’s exciting!'”
Not only do we absolutely adore the fact that these two are newly minted BFFs, but we also love that Schumer’s humor clearly doesn’t have an “off” button.
