Justin Timberlake totally gets what Kanye West said about him at the VMAs

Kanye West was not calling Justin Timberlake a crybaby at the VMAs last night. He had a point, and even JT agrees with him.

During his long, rambling speech at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, West was trying to make a point about how much he respects his fellow artists and how he knows they are just as passionate about their work as he is, but to many, it sounded like he was calling Justin Timberlake a big wah-wah baby head.

“The contradiction is that I do fight for artists but in that fight, somehow, was disrespectful to artists,” Kanye said. “I didn’t know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing, I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and CeeLo Green lose. Gnarls Barkley and the FutureSex/LoveSounds album, and bro, Justin, I’m not trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking he deserved to win Album of the Year. And the small box that we are of entertainers of the evening, how could you explain that?”

Timberlake tweeted about the mention and at first got his fans up in arms about a possible feud between the two, but quickly set the record straight.

In case you’re wondering what West actually meant, we’re pretty sure he was calling the work of the other nominees enduring pieces of art and defending their right to be upset over the loss in what to him seems like a capricious awards system.
