Adrian Grenier loses tons of fans after ‘disrespectful’ 9/11 post (PHOTO)

Adrian Grenier received a huge backlash from his 9/11 Instagram post — so much so that he removed the image.

The black-and-white photo Grenier posted showed a simple outline of the twin towers and says in white, bold text, “R.I.P. the 2,996 Americans who died in 9/11. R.I.P. the 1,455,590 innocent Iraqis who died during the U.S. invasion for something they didn’t do.”

The response was so heated that Grenier quickly removed the post, but E! Online nabbed some of the harsh comments.

“No body likes you, you sick f***. Get out of America,” one commenter said. “Kiss your career goodbye you piece of shit.”

Still another added, “Vince was my least favorite character anyway,” which referenced his character in the Entourage series.

“Disrespectful! You are a horrible American!!” yet another said.

Grenier didn’t comment on the backlash directly other than to delete the post, but he did add another photo shortly after deleting his 9/11 post, which simply said, “Pause.”

He also added another photo of the 9/11 site after all of the destruction. He captioned, “In challenging moments and times of mourning, we must seek perspective to help us find peace within our choices forward. #911”

His new post still didn’t assuage the backlash.

One commenter even suggested, “go hang yourself.”

It’s one thing to disagree with someone and a whole other ballgame when you start to make threatening suggestions about their life.

Even more were just downright mean. “You’re a f***in joke!! You liberal f***, if you believe in what you preach why take the post down.. PUSSY.”

Grenier is known for being an outspoken activist and environmentalist so he’s, no doubt, used to getting some hate for his work. But this might be the most extreme yet.

Do you think the harsh comments are justified, or do they just further prove people these days are too sensitive?
