There has never, ever been a doubt that Stevie Wonder is cool, but James Corden and The Late Late Show manage to take his awesomeness to a whole new level.
In a skit during the show last night, Corden and his guest Wonder hop in the car together for some road trip karaoke. Only, Wonder wants to drive.

The legendary vocalist, who also happens to be blind, then proceeds to reveal he doesn’t have a driver’s license and that he’s also obsessed with Facetime.
Again, there was never any question that Wonder is “the coolest cat since the saber tooth” as a friend of mine notably remarked when I said I was writing this article. But there’s something about this skit that brings that coolness into the 21st century for a whole new generation to enjoy.
Not to mention, all of the road-trip sing-alongs of Wonder’s biggest hits including, “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Superstition” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” make us need to go to a Wonder concert ASAP.

Even better, Corden gleefully calls his wife Julia Carey during the segment to have Wonder sing her another infamous hit, “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” While Wonder talks to and then sings to Corden’s wife, Corden is jumping up and down, laughing like a 5-year-old getting bike on Christmas. Wonder even personalizes the song, changing it to, “I Just Called to Say James Loves You.”
And after the call, Corden remarks just like any other young married dude would, “Oh, my God. You’ve just won me so many brownie points with my wife.”
Like that moment couldn’t get any better, Corden even cries! Like, actual tears, which he wipes away once the car stops. Yes, they were still driving through all of this.
