Speaking about her desire to become a mom, the supermodel said, “When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids. I’m like, ‘Damn, the clock is ticking!'”

Banks has desperately wanted children since her early 20s, but unfortunately, because of her demanding career, she kept postponing motherhood.

“Since I was 24, I used to say every year, ‘I will have kids in three years,'” she told the mag. “I kept saying it over and over again. Because my business is very entrepreneurial. I’m not for hire, so I have to do everything. I kept trying to find that time for that to happen.”

The America’s Next Top Model host is now 41 years old and has been dating photographer, Erik Asla, for two years. But having children biologically has presented quite a problem.

“When you’re like, ‘OK, I’m just going to do it,’ then it’s not so easy as you get older,” Banks said, brimming with tears, before revealing that she has undergone several IVF procedures.

“I’ve had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments,” she explained. “It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.”

But Banks is still looking on the bright side and is upbeat that she may one day be able to conceive — because children are something she really wants in her life.

“I don’t just want one child. I want a litter! And I want to be the kind of mom where my child can come to me for anything,” she said.

We’re wishing you all the best for your dreams of motherhood, Tyra!
