After fans of Bravo’s Southern Charm speculated over photos posted to Kathryn Dennis’ Instagram, she and fellow cast member Thomas Ravenel announced yesterday that Dennis is indeed pregnant with the couple’s second child, much to the chagrin of Twitter.

It has been a short and ridiculously bumpy road for Southern Charm‘s seemingly mismatched couple, 24-year-old Kathryn Dennis and 53-year-old Thomas Ravenel. The pair had two breakups (that we know of) and one pregnancy scare under their belt by the end of Season 1, and at the beginning of Season 2, which premiered in March 2015, Dennis had given birth to the couple’s first child, Kensington. By the end of Season 2, Dennis and Ravenel were once again living apart.
Yesterday, Dennis and Ravenel confirmed that they were expecting a boy. The announcement is being met with disdain, to put it mildly.

Cast member Patricia Altschul, who has made her less-than-ecstatic feelings about Dennis and Ravenel known on the show, tweeted the Daily Mail article about Dennis’ pregnancy, complete with an unflattering photo of Dennis confronting Ravenel on the show’s reunion episode.
Altschul also retweeted a fan who quoted her when she referred to Dennis as a “shameless strumpet” during the show’s second season.
For the most part, fans seem united in their skepticism that a second pregnancy would be a good idea for the perpetually estranged couple — and intrigued as to what this new development will mean for Season 3 drama.
Ravenel has talked about marrying Dennis in the past, but it seems like the couple’s drama has erased that option, and while they claim to be “just friends” now, it’s obvious that more has been going on. Only time will tell what the future holds for these two, but we can be sure it will make for dramatic television.
