Blake Shelton opens up about divorce hours after Miranda Lambert rumors

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have both decided to break their silence on all the rumors surrounding their unexpected divorce in July.

Just yesterday, Lambert reportedly told sources, who spoke with E! News, that she is planning on taking her next relationship slower. The source described her as a “hopeless romantic” who still wants a relationship if it’s meant to be.

And this morning, Shelton also opened up about the split, telling The Bobby Bones Show, “In Oklahoma, it happens so fast. Like Miranda and I didn’t have any kids, and we had a prenuptial agreement, whatever we had. Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like — I think we had a nine or 10-day waiting period until it’s over.”

Shelton also added that the rumors about him and Lambert were just that. He said he and Lambert are “buddies” despite everything that’s happened between them.

He added, “We knew if rumblings and rumors started coming out they would be just that. By the time anybody knew anything, it was over. It was done.”

The couple did have what seemed like one of the quickest celebrity divorces in history. Lambert got the couple’s Nashville property while Shelton kept their Oklahoma ranch. They came to a speedy agreement about the split, which allowed a judge to quickly sign off on the papers.

Now, just two months later, they seem to be focusing on moving on with their separate lives. Neither, it seems, has anything bad to say about the other, nor are they commenting on the specifics that led to their divorce.
