So last night was an incredible evening on Dancing with the Stars. I got to wear a plaid suit with a pink bow tie, which has always been a bucket list item for me.
Something fans many not know is that we get to help with the outfit choices for each performance. I meet with wardrobe for the consultation. My note for them the whole season has been, “If the cut of the suit is good, I’m pretty much down for anything.”
One of the big stories of the night was an unfortunate one; Kim Zolciak was unable to perform. I got to have lunch with her partner Tony Dovolani, and we are super bummed out because it meant she was eliminated.

Outside of that somber news, it was TV theme night and it made for a colorful evening. Allison and I performed to the American Bandstand theme song. American Bandstand was actually a pretty incredible show that really influenced the culture. It broke a lot of the molds that had been set in society. For instance, it was the first show to feature African American dancers.
Some of my favorites were my friend Hayes Grier and his partner Emma Slater dancing to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Mark Ballas and Alexa PenaVega dressed in Breaking Bad attire. I was put into jeopardy at the end of the episode, which was a little scary so I need all of your votes! As the weeks go on, I definitely feel I’m starting to have some context for how this whole thing works. Each week, I’m getting more and more comfortable.

I’m not quite ready to go home yet. Next week, I’ll be dancing to my own song “Good To Be Alive,” so make sure to check it out. Can’t wait for next week!
