Kim Zolciak is no longer in the running for the trophy on DWTS — and Alfonso Ribeiro says that’s how it should be.
The Real Housewives star was dismissed from the competition this week after she suffered a mini-stroke and missed her dance — and after some fans cried foul, DWTS alum Ribeiro stepped up to defend the decision.
“I think the show handled it right,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I think they handled it right because it could have been Kim going home tonight. And would it have been fair for her not to dance, and still come back next week, and have someone else go home? That wouldn’t have been fair.
“So we don’t know what the outcome was, but the rules say, you can’t go the next week if you don’t perform,” he continued. “It truly is unfortunate that she wasn’t able to make it here to perform.”

But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t rooting for her.
”I’m a fan of hers, I wanted to go get on a bus and bring her here,” he said. “That bus takes too long!”
Ribeiro definitely knows of what he speaks. While competing in 2014, he suffered both a groin and a back injury that threatened to take him out of the competition. He carried on and went on to win.
