The long-awaited third instalment of Bridget Jones is coming and we’ve been given a sneak peek at Bridget Jones’s Baby.

On Friday, Universal Pictures UK took to Twitter to announce that the third Bridget Jones movie had begun filming and teased Renée Zellweger’s return as our favourite fictional diary-keeper.
One of the most notable things about the image is the fact that Jones now has an iPad with a bold red cover instead of her trusty diary. Which has got us wondering what other changes there will be. What’s happened between Bridget and Darcy since The Edge of Reason? Will Bridget be a high-flying media success? For sure, things are going to be pretty different but there are some aspects of Bridget we really hope haven’t changed.
Like when a miscommunication resulted in Bridget wearing a bunny outfit. LOL.
We found all those moping around at home scenes so relatable.
And cringed when she partook in the most inappropriate karaoke session ever.
We totally felt her pain when Bridget was completely drenched by a passing truck.
What we know for certain is that Colin Firth will reprise his role as the beloved Mark Darcy. However Hugh Grant will not be coming back as Daniel Cleaver.

Speaking of his decision to avoid the project, Hello magazine reports that Grant told Birmingham’s Free Radio, “I decided not to do it. But I think they are going to go ahead and do it without Daniel. The book’s excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different — well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago.”
One change we’re extremely happy about is that another leading man is joining the cast — Patrick Dempsey. The actor took to Instagram last week to post a picture of himself in rainy England.
He captioned the snap, “Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with! A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios. I really like it here!”

Fans have waited more than a decade to see more of Bridget on the big screen but there’s still some time to wait as the film won’t hit cinemas until September 2016. Hopefully this is just the first of many teasers we’ll be treated to.
