Cosmo attacked for naming the Kardashians ‘America’s first family’ (PHOTO)

Cosmopolitan magazine might have just bit off a little more than they can chew in the controversy category.

On this month’s cover, the magazine featured the women of Keeping Up with the Kardashians: Kris, Khloé, Kim, Kylie, Kendall and Kourtney. And this time it wasn’t the photo that had people in an uproar — it was the headline the magazine used to accompany the reality TV stars.

The magazine dubbed the women “America’s first family” on the cover of their October issue.

And when the image of the mag hit the Internet, Twitter exploded with people saying it was disrespectful and offensive, many of them taking to the social media site to correct the magazine’s mistake and show them photos of the real first family and sparking the hashtag CosmoFail.

Some folks expressed how silly and offensive they found the cover, too.

Now maybe the editors at Cosmo fell and bumped their heads and when they came to, they thought we were in the year 2020 and Kanye had taken office already, but no, sorry, guys — we are still in 2015 and the Obamas (love them or hate them) are still in office. And as the real, official first family they do deserve respect, regardless of your political leaning.

I love reality TV as much as the next gal and even if the Kardashians are TV tabloid royalty, saying they are the first family is a bit too much.
