Justin Bieber fans are furious over leaked nude pics of him

You’d think Justin Bieber fans would be happy about this.

The Biebs is currently on vacation with his rumored girlfriend, Jayde Pierce. And while on that vacation, he did what every hot, rich 20-something should do on vacation in a tropical, presumably private place: He hung out naked in his pool and on his deck. But bad news for Bieber: A lurking paparazzo nabbed a photo. A very naked photo. All-the-way naked, full-frontal Biebs.

Knowing Bieber’s insane fan following, one would think this would be a time for excitement. Apparently not. Soon after the photos, leaked by the New York Daily News, went viral, fans had #RespectForJustin trending.

And they definitely have a point. While the first reaction for a lot of people would be to laugh at the #BieberWiener leak, this whole scandal represents a pretty major invasion of privacy for the “Feeling” singer. There’s nothing newsworthy about a naked Biebs letting it all hang out on a private deck at a vacation home. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. The fact that these photos made so many headlines reveals a pretty major double standard in our culture. When women are photographed topless by the paparazzi, rarely do the photos go this viral. When they do, they’re generally slammed for being what they are: tasteless objectification of women. How is Bieber’s situation any different?

So while Bieber’s fans are often kind of crazy, they’re making a completely valid point this time around. Those leaked nude pics shouldn’t be on the ‘net, and you shouldn’t be looking at them — or sharing them.
