Rosie O’Donnell posts heartbreaking tweet following daughter’s interview

Rosie O’Donnell’s latest tweet suggests she’s trying to let go of her daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, who spoke out against her during an interview with The Daily Mail.

O’Donnell posted a quote from the book The Runaway Bunny on Wednesday, which read, “I will grow, I will grow. I will grow without you. I will feel the sun on my face and I will thrive.”

The book tells the story of a bunny, who tells his mother he wants to run away from home. At the end of the book, the mother bunny tells her son that she will go wherever he wants her to go and be whatever he wants her to be.

Chelsea’s recent interview was very critical of her mother. She said that rather than run away, as O’Donnell has been stating repeatedly during the past few months since her daughter initially went missing, Chelsea says she was kicked out of the home.

“She told me to leave and take my dog,” Chelsea told the outlet. “Rosie said that I was almost 18, and she got all this crap from work, and she didn’t want to have to deal with that at home too.”

Chelsea also admitted that she struggled with depression and anxiety, which she attributed to O’Donnell’s divorce with Kelli Carpenter. “It was very upsetting to me and I think I took it harder than the rest of my siblings.”

O’Donnell sent out a tweet in mid-August, saying that her daughter was missing and pleading for anyone who might have any information to help. Chelsea was found with her 25-year-old boyfriend, Steven Sheerer, whom she is still dating and has reportedly since moved in with following the reported drama with O’Donnell.

O’Donnell is rumored to be very upset with the relationship because it started when Chelsea was still a minor and because Sheerer has a drug-dealing past.
