Jill and Derick Dillard deemed unworthy of missionary status

Not even the church thinks Jill and Derick Dillard are doing missionary work.

Christianity Daily reveals that the Southern Baptist Convention and the International Mission Board rejected Jill and Derick Dillard as missionaries because they didn’t meet the qualifications.

The couple’s South American adventure has received a huge amount of criticism as of late because of accusations that they’re misusing donation money that was given to them to help further their efforts abroad. But this is the first time official word has come from the church directly that the couple isn’t satisfying the requirements.

Still, that doesn’t seem to be stopping the two from continuing their South American adventure, especially now that TLC has commissioned a filmed special to be aired, which will focus on Duggar daughters Jill and Jessa.

And official statement from TLC explained, “What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child. And we’ll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in.”

Notice how TLC failed to describe their move as “mission work.”

Meanwhile, the Dillard family continues to insist that their work abroad is for the good of the church, despite the fact that they have spent ample time in the States as of late rather than in South America doing good as they originally intended.

The Dillards have yet to address concerns that they are stealing from fans, many of whom are demanding that their donation money be returned and are accusing the family of running a fraudulent mission.

Do you think the Dillards should be required to refund donation money now that they’re not official missionaries?
