Raven-Symoné’s dad pens brutal open letter about ‘dumb sh*t’ she says

In Raven-Symoné’s case, some very tough love is coming from her dad.

The former Disney star and co-host on The View is under fire yet again for making controversial remarks on the hit ABC talk show — this time saying that she would discriminate against “ghetto” names in hiring. In a public post made to his Facebook page over the weekend, her father, Christopher B. Pearman, made it known that he does not want to be affiliated with the “Dumb S#%T” his daughter says on The View.

“Children grow up and become influenced by many things, situations and people. I certainly don’t agree with what she said… but she is damn near thirty years old,” he wrote. “She’s a grown ass woman making grown ass mistakes. We all have been guilty of this.”

He continued, “Raven is a really beautiful, sweethearted human being. I should know. Her mother and I love her very much and will always support her and have her back. Even if sometimes… she says some dumb S#%T!”

Apparently, the post was motivated, at least in part, by Raven-Symoné’s remarks actually affecting Pearman’s career.

“A woman wrote to me tonight and said she couldn’t support my book because of the words of my daughter,” he wrote. “What she fails to realize is that my book is about teaching your child to believe and achieve. Raven has achieved incredible success, and this cannot be denied!”

Raven-Symoné made her comments on Thursday’s episode of The View, saying if she were an employer looking to hire, she wouldn’t consider anyone with a “ghetto” name.

“Just to bring it back, can we take back ‘racist’ and say ‘discriminatory,’ because I think that’s a better word,” she said. “And I am very discriminatory against words like the ones that they were saying in the video. I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you.”
