There is no love lost between Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Hope Solo, and the former DWTS pro just put his ex-partner on blast.
Chmerkovskiy, who danced with Solo on Season 13 of Dancing with the Stars, has taken great offense to Solo’s accusations that he physically abused her during rehearsals, and he didn’t hold back during a recent interview.
“She’s just a shitty person,” Chmerkovskiy told Matthew Cole Weiss and Theo Von on their podcast.
“You can have a shitty life growing up, but if you’re a bad person, there’s no excuse for that. She wrote a book, she lied about a bunch of stuff. I had a tough time dealing with that.”

Wow! What caused all this animosity? It all goes back to some awful allegations the Olympian made against him in her 2012 book Solo: A Memoir of Hope. Not only did she accuse Chmerkovskiy of slapping her across the face after the competition ended, she went into detail about his reported roughness during rehearsals.
“He was often nasty, swearing at me and being harshly critical. He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly,” she wrote. “One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day.”
Chmerkovskiy denied the allegations on Twitter back in 2012, writing, “Always hated hypocrites and liars. But when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can’t win at someone’s expense.”

The dancer also revealed why he left DWTS — and why he’ll never come back.
“It’s a permanent thing, I’m not coming back,” he said. “Maybe I was just not a good person for DWTS. I was never about politics or looking good for the camera. I had one job — to teach someone how to dance.
“I had a giant fight with producers. I thought about it for two days. I can be lying to myself or be true to myself and I chose to be true to myself. When you are true to yourself shit comes out that the public may not like. And I’m OK with that.”
Chmerkovskiy is currently dating fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd.
