The BBC reports that a mysterious commercial that aired during The X Factor in the U.K. on Sunday might actually be a teaser for new music from Adele.
The British songwriter and Grammy winner has stayed largely out of the spotlight since she released “Skyfall” in 2012, but the 30-second ad features a clip of a song, and if that’s not Adele singing, it’s someone with a spot-on impression.
What makes the spot even more mysterious is that it doesn’t advertise anything — all it features is white lyrics flashing across the screen over piano chords and what really seems to be Adele’s voice.

“Hello/ It’s me/ I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet/ To go over/ Everything,” the voice sings. “They say that time’s supposed to heal ya/ but I ain’t done much healing.”

The screen then fades to black with a white ellipsis at its center, signifying, we can only assume, more to come.
Since last summer, reports have been saying Adele plans to release a new album this November, four years after her sophomore album, 21, netted her six Grammy awards. The follow-up album, rumored to be titled 25, was originally supposed to drop in 2014, and, according to People magazine, will feature collaborations with Pharrell Williams and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder.
Adele’s camp hasn’t confirmed that the commercial was a teaser for her new album, but shortly after it aired, OneRepublic tweeted “Adele :)” — as close to confirmation as we’re probably going to get.
Fans on Twitter also seem pretty convinced the voice in the ad does belong to Adele. Many tweeted their excitement about the possibility of a new album within the month.
