A former producer of the ABC talk show The View reportedly wants to take O’Donnell to court. Deadline reports that Jennifer Shepard-Brookman filed a jury-seeking complaint in New York last week, alleging that O’Donnell blamed her for leaks about tension behind the scenes at the show and that, ultimately, it cost her her job of 14 years.
Brookman is reportedly seeking unspecified damages and names incidents in her complaint in which she claims O’Donnell “intimidated” her by “screaming” about stories that were assigned to View co-host Whoopi Goldberg instead of O’Donnell.
“Ms. Brookman brings this claim to hold Ms. O’Donnell accountable for her malicious conduct in making false and defamatory statements of fact about Ms. Brookman to others in their workplace, which caused Ms. Brookman to suffer intense emotional distress, anxiety, and lack of sleep, destroyed her professional reputation, and led to her termination of employment,” Brookman’s lawyer wrote in the complaint, which was filed Thursday.

It also states, “To be clear, Ms. Brookman denies that she ever leaked any such information about the Show to the media, and unequivocally states that the accusations that she leaked any such information about the Show to the media is false.”
ABC declined to comment, and O’Donnell’s attorney said the claims are “baseless.”
Amid personal struggles, including a divorce and other family problems, O’Donnell left The View in February, around the same time Brookman was let go. That was only a few months after O’Donnell joined the struggling show in September of last year.
