Anyone who’s ever seen 0.5 seconds of The Real Housewives of New Jersey knows that Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga have a love-hate relationship, with a heavy emphasis on the “hate” part. The sisters-in-law never seem to see eye-to-eye on things, and the result is a seriously contentious relationship. However, now that Giudice is behind bars, Gorga has seemed to step up to help take care of her four kids. But what I’m wondering is: How does Giudice feel about that?
On Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, Gorga was seen taking Giudice’s four girls, as well as her own daughter, out for mani-pedis, where she allowed the little ladies to enjoy lattes and everyone indulged in some much-needed girl talk. Overall, it seemed like a great time and everyone clearly had fun. Despite her relationship with her sister-in-law, Gorga, no doubt, is doing exactly what a supportive family member and loving aunt should do right now: she’s being there for the kids.

That said, though, it’s hard not to wonder what Giudice must think of her four daughters spending more time with her sister-in-law — who, let’s face it, isn’t her best friend — than her these days. While she no doubt wants the best for her kids and is likely happy they’re doing OK and having fun with their cousins, she’s also probably a little weirded out. And regardless of what you think of Giudice, it’s hard to blame her. Gorga likely would be the same way if the tables were turned.

Also, despite the manner in which Gorga is stepping up, I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up the fact that during Teresa Checks In, she still seemed to get the eensiest dig in at Giudice.
Gorga brought up the fact that she still hasn’t been approved to visit her sister-in-law in prison. Her husband Joe has, but not her. Gorga also brought up how she’s been writing letters to Giudice in jail, but has yet to hear back or get an email from her. She mentions how she’s hoping to get on Giudice’s email chain, but it’s “full.” OK.

From the look of things, it doesn’t appear that Giudice is going to slink into a life of seclusion after she gets out of prison. In fact, it appears as though she’s going to emerge from jail, guns blazing, ready to hop back into the limelight again. And, as much as I hate to think this way, it seems like her feud with Gorga will pick up right where it left off. I hope I’m wrong, but I could totally see Giudice being pissed at her sister-in-law for mentioning anything about email chains or how she wasn’t approved for visitation rights.
But there’s also the chance — and this is what I’m rooting for — that with her husband away in prison, Giudice will soften to the Gorgas and this ridiculous, nonsensical war between the two women will end once and for all.
That could happen… right?
Being that Giudice only has a few months left in jail, we’ll find out the state of her and Gorga’s relationship soon enough. These two rarely are ones to keep their dirty laundry to themselves, so we’ll all likely be privy to what happens. I’m hoping Giudice can simply take Gorga’s kindness at face value and leave it at that. But I’m not holding my breath.
