John Oliver has some very harsh words for Stephen Harper (VIDEO)

John Oliver feels strongly about Canadian politics, and he decided to share his thoughts with his viewers on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

During the segment about the Canadian federal elections (for which voting is today, Oct. 19), Oliver spoke about former Conservative candidate Jerry Bance’s urination incident, discussed Alex Johnstone landing in hot water for exclaiming that a wall in Auschwitz looked phallic and poked fun at NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair for “reading a rhyming dictionary.”

But he also had a message about Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper, and he recruited the help of Mike Myers to get his point across — which was to not reelect him.

The problem? Oliver was breaking an election law, which forbids foreigners from influencing Canadian elections, which comes with a $5,000 fine and six-month jail term, Esquire reports.

But is Oliver worried? Nope.

“That is a ridiculous law,” Oliver stated.

“You think I’m scared of six months in a Canadian prison? What’s that — six months of living in Ottawa?” he continued.

“And as for your $5,000 fine, I simply can’t imagine a better way to spend 5,000 Canadian dollars. But if telling you not to vote for Stephen Harper is going to cost me $5,000, I’m going to get my money’s worth. And I’m going to do it in the most Canadian way possible.”

Cue Myers dressed as a Mountie, a moose getting a colonoscopy and a beaver playing a keyboard. And there you have just how much Oliver doesn’t want people to vote for Harper — and Myers echoed his sentiments.
