Meri Brown and the rest of the Sister Wives gang is likely relieved about the latest development in the drama surrounding their recent catfishing scandal.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that Jackie Overton — the woman who catfished Brown by pretending she was a man, and lured her into an online relationship — was arrested for outstanding warrants unrelated to the incident with Brown. According to the publication, Overton was picked up for having outstanding warrants.
A clerk at the Kay County courthouse said, “Jackie Overton has three outstanding warrants. She has [them] on taxes due to state, which is an expired tag or expired license plate, and a failure to carry valid security information, which means no insurance, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.”

Brown got tangled up in the extramarital affair while going through a difficult time in her family life, having earlier in the year been asked by her husband, polygamist Kody Brown, for a divorce. The move was consensual and made so that he could legally marry wife No. 4, Robyn, and adopt her three children and add them to his health insurance.
Even though she agreed to this strategic move, she claims it was the divorce that left her vulnerable enough to be manipulated online in such a way.

Overton was allegedly confronted at her home by In Touch regarding the relationship, and at that time claimed her name was Kelsey Williams, but with her arrest, her true identity has been confirmed. Overton currently remains behind bars, as she has not been able to pay her bond.
And in another bizarre twist to this already strange tale, Della Overton, Jackie’s mother, was also arrested on embezzlement charges.
The truth is often stranger than fiction.
