Real Housewives of New Jersey fans bash Joe Gorga for putting on a pity party

The long-standing feud between the Gorgas and the Giudices has largely been put on hold now that Teresa Giudice is in the slammer. However, while Joe Giudice is cool with Joe Gorga these days, RHONJ fans are as annoyed by Gorga as ever.

Gorga certainly didn’t win any new fans during tonight’s episode of Teresa Checks In. Instead of supporting the Giudices, he decided to make it all about the Gorgas and how much they are suffering while Teresa is behind bars. He claimed that he was super sad about everything that had gone down with Teresa and that he would surely be even more emotional while visiting her in prison.

While it’s natural for Gorga to be bummed about his sister’s plight, he went above and beyond with his pity party. His suffering is nothing compared to that of the poor Giudice kids, who have been forced to deal not only with their mother’s absence, but also (for the older girls) the whole media spectacle surrounding the Giudices’ legal issues.

Joe Giudice was oddly OK with all of Gorga’s mopey behavior… and so was Teresa. In fact, she was the one to comfort Gorga during his visit to prison, and not the other way around. Fortunately, his wish for prison to change Teresa for the better came true — he mentioned at the end of the episode that she seemed like a much better person. Fortunately, the pity party ceased by the time the episode ended, as Gorga finally realized that things weren’t as bad as he’d anticipated.

Fans of RHONJ and the Giudices were certainly relieved when Gorga stopped whining about how sad he felt, but they still made a point of sharing their annoyance regarding his earlier behavior. Several tweeted about how obnoxious they found his multiple outbursts — especially since they believe that Gorga was responsible for Giudice’s prison sentence in the first place.

Now that Gorga has realized that a stint in prison is not necessarily as awful as he assumed, it will be interesting to see how he deals with Joe Giudice’s time behind bars, as well as Teresa’s return to normal life. Both of these themes will surely be explored during the next season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
