Boy George dropped a bombshell about sleeping with a music icon while filming The Voice this week, but the show is quite eager to downplay the shocker.
While taping auditions for The Voice UK, Boy George and fellow judges Will.i.am, Ricky Wilson and Paloma Faith were discussing which popular performers they have worked with in the past when Faith mentioned Prince.
That is when Boy George reportedly brought the taping to a standstill, claiming he had a much more intimate relationship with the singer.
“He just went, ‘Oh darling, I’ve slept with him,'” a spokesperson for The Voice told People today.
Say whaaat?
“We just couldn’t believe what he had come out with — and the guys in the gallery were beside themselves,” a production source told The Sun.
“The crowd went absolutely wild because they thought they had just witnessed a massive celebrity exclusive. The other judges thought it was brilliant, particularly Will.i.am. He kept coming up to Boy George and high-fiving him, which just set the crowd off again.”

“Production staff had to come up onstage and speak to them. After that, Boy George started backtracking, saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall.
“But as far as the crowd were concerned, the cat was already out of the bag.”
Mmmm hmmm. Likely story, that poster bit. But the official line from The Voice is that Boy George was just kidding, and they are sticking to it.

“He was never being serious,” the show spokesperson told People, insisting that “whole drama of the show coming to a halt didn’t happen at all.”
