A petition asking for the former child star to be removed from her co-hosting gig on the popular ABC talk show has garnered more than 125,000 signatures.

The petition is directed at Barbara Walters, and according to the writer, the goal is to have Raven-Symoné removed from the show because of a number of controversial comments she’s made.

“African Americans and black people around the diaspora need a voice representative of their views and not a voice representative of what white people want us to say,” the petition reads. “We need strong black rolemodels in prominent positions on television an Raven Symone [sic] cannot provide that. That is why I ask that we petition to remove her from The View.”

But according to E! News, the petition may not work. ABC responded to the petition in a statement to the site, saying, “We love Raven. She is confident, genuine and opinionated, all qualities that make her a great addition to the panel.”

Raven-Symoné has upset viewers many times since she started her co-hosting job on The View, most recently when she defended the police officer in the Spring Valley High School assault, saying the student was in the wrong for being on her phone. She’s also said she wouldn’t hire someone with a “ghetto” name, prompting her own father to write an open letter about the “dumb s***” she says.

When Raven-Symoné first started on The View, she acknowledged that her opinions might get her in trouble.

“I definitely have a different lifestyle than a lot of people in this world—good and bad—and my views are different than one might think my views might be because I’ve never really spoken my truth until recently,” she told E! News at the time. ”Hopefully I can shed some light on what I like to call the truth. Some people might not agree with me and some people will but we know how to talk to each other in a respectful way so that everybody gets their point across and there’s no cutthroat conversation.”
