Adele‘s new single “Hello” has broken records by selling 1 million downloads in one week and the video has clocked up a phenomenal 210 million views, also breaking the record for the most Vevo views in a single day.

But the success of a song or video really comes down to how many spoofs it inspires and “Hello” is doing pretty well in that respect too.
Sir David Attenborough, he of the unmistakable voice of nature programmes, is the latest celebrity to jump on the bandwagon — or rather be coerced on to it by BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James.
“A big pop star predator returned,” James told the broadcaster when he appeared on his show, tempting him into a spoof video.
”Won’t Adele be cross with me?’ asked Attenborough.
“I think Adele would probably love this more than anything in the whole world,” replied James.
And that was all the encouragement Attenborough needed to give the pop video his rather wonderful spoof narration.
It will be a long time before we forget the veteran narrator saying “hashtag flip-phone.”

The “Hello” parodies just keep on coming, with the most popular so far including Ellen DeGeneres’ completely genius portrayal of Adele’s ex-lover, James Corden’s Halloween-inspired spoof on The Late Late Show, and a mash-up of “Hello” with Lionel Richie’s 1984 hit of the same name.
“Hello” is out now. Adele’s new album 25 is released on Nov. 20.
