June “Mama June” Shannon and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson are trying one final effort to save their marriage before they officially and finally call it quits.

Shannon and Thompson are joining the reality TV show Marriage Boot Camp, which gives troubled couples the opportunity to ultimately decide if they should stay together or not.
WE tv calls the couple’s journey on the show “their last chance to salvage their relationship wrecked by a scandal that has torn their family apart.”
It was revealed back in September 2014 that the two had separated after Shannon discovered Thompson was online dating.

Following their split, even more scandal rocked the family when rumors surfaced that Shannon was dating her former boyfriend Mark McDaniel, who was a convicted sex offender and was accused of molesting Mama June’s daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell when she was 8 years old.
Shannon’s dating decisions caused TLC to promptly cancel the family’s reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
Shannon has repeatedly maintained that she is not in a relationship with McDaniel. She asserts that their relationship ended years ago and has not reconciled.
“It was our last resort,” Shannon told People of her and Thompson’s decision to join another reality show.
She added, “I feel like he had cheated for quite some time, and I needed some answers. It was either you go here or we end our 11 years.”

The two will be joined on the Reality Stars season with other well-known couples like The Bachelor‘s Sean and Catherine Lowe, Basketball Wives: LA‘s Sundy Carter and Cendric and Bad Girls Club‘s Sarah Oliver and Jimmy “Inkman” Coney.
