The only person in the world who doesn’t know that Bindi Irwin‘s father died a horrific death is forcing her to prove he’s really gone before she can get paid from DWTS.
A judge rejected Bindi’s Dancing with the Stars contract because while her mother, Terri Irwin, provided a document giving up all claim to Bindi’s earnings, no such form was included for her father. Because, you know, he’s dead.
So, according to this judge, because 17-year-old Bindi is underage, without her father’s signature, “the court is unable to find that it is in the best interest of the minor to be bound by the terms of the contract,” according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Steve Irwin, an internationally famous wildlife conservationist known as the Crocodile Hunter, died in 2006 in a freak accident after being stabbed in the heart by a stingray’s barb while filming for his television show.
It is unclear if the judge is really totally unaware of Steve’s truly awful demise, despite the fact that it made the news all over the world and his televised memorial service, featuring a eulogy by then-tiny yet eloquent Bindi, brought millions to tears, or if a simple death certificate would suffice to free up Bindi’s cash.

And a nice chunk of change it is — so far, Bindi’s earnings on the show have totaled approximately $230,000. If she walks away with that mirror ball trophy — and hers is the same as Rumer Willis’ Dancing with the Stars contract — she could rake in a total of $345,000.
Bindi has discussed her father’s death very emotionally several times since starting the show, and even dedicated a special dance to him.
“Dad was the strongest person I’ve ever known,” she told People in October. “And when the strongest person is taken away, you kind of go, ‘Oh my goodness. What are we going to do?'”
Bindi has not commented on the judge’s ignorance or the contract issue.
