Anyone else really confused after all that time traveling? As much concentration as it took to keep the timelines straight, thanks to Noah going back to June 13, it wasn’t hard to figure out what was going to happen to Hiro at the end. After raising Tommy/Nathan as his son and falling in love with Anne, it seems like Hiro sacrificed himself to save his family. Wait. What? Heroes Reborn wouldn’t really kill off one of the most beloved characters of the series, right?

My gut is telling me Hiro is still very much alive; after all, viewers didn’t actually see Hiro die. Plus, he is an expert swordsman and could take on an entire village, let alone three of Harris’ clones. Whatever the case, if Hiro definitely did die protecting his family, well, not only will the show face the wrath of the fandom, but it will also devastate the show. Granted, Heroes Reborn is only set for 13 episodes so far, but if it scores additional episodes and/or a season renewal and kills off Hiro in the process, well the show could easily lose fans — if it hasn’t already.
Yes, if Hiro does die, he died a hero and protecting those he loved. That’s how he would’ve wanted it. His name isn’t Hiro for nothing. Anyway, I know it’s 2015 and TV series are constantly pulling the rug out from under fans by killing off major characters, which definitely makes for great TV, but it’s Hiro. You can’t kill off Hiro Nakamura! That just isn’t in the vocabulary of Heroes fans. There is no Heroes without Hiro; the two are a package deal.

I mean, just look at how fans are reacting without knowing if Hiro is truly dead.
If anything happens to Hiro, I will riot. RIOT. #HeroesReborn

I am not okay with this episode… Hiro better not have died or else I'm going to have some issues… #HeroesReborn

But… Nathan could just teleport them all away. Zero reason for Hiro to die. Needless sacrifice is needless. #HeroesReborn

"Save our son. Save the world. I've been waiting 15 years for this" Hiro, please don't die!! #HeroesReborn

Can you imagine how the fandom will react if it’s revealed Hiro is dead for good? There would most definitely be an uproar. Also, his supposed death kind of seems unnecessary. I mean, why couldn’t Hiro go with Tommy/Nathan, Anne and Casper? Why exactly did he have to stay behind? If you’re going to kill Hiro, then at least make it a death fans will understand and possibly accept.
With that said, here’s hoping Heroes Reborn did itself a favor and didn’t just get rid of the one character who brings the series to life.
Heroes Reborn airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
