Chalk this up as one of the scariest and then most heartening stories you are going to hear for a while.
NCIS star Pauley Perrette tweeted Friday morning that she was viciously assaulted by a homeless man she describes as psychotic. She tweeted an image of a longer, typed document in which she describes the harrowing events that took place Thursday evening. She wrote that she was walking near her home in Hollywood when the attack took place.
“He grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, punched me in the nose, forehead repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me,” she said. “I was alone, terrified and trapped.”
The entire post will break your heart, right down to the detail of a stranger walking by who did nothing, passing so close to her that his dog licked her face.

She was fortunate to get away and drew a sketch of the man she believed attacked her, and the LAPD have confirmed that they took a man into custody on felony battery charges.
But this unbelievably terrifying story hasn’t stopped Perrette from being an advocate for the homeless, who she says her life is all about.
In an interview Friday with Entertainment Tonight, Perrette solidified she is truly the salt of the earth when she turned this terrible incident into a platform to discuss the broader problem of homelessness, mental illness and even took the opportunity to bring it around to thank law enforcement.
“I’m really happy to be safe, but he breaks my heart. I hate that people are that mentally ill in this country or anywhere and with no help,” she said to a baffled ET reporter, who couldn’t believe she was being so humble as to worry about the man who attacked her.

She goes on to say that not only does her heart break for the mentally ill who are undiagnosed or without help, but for the police who have to have to deal with this every single day.
So glad to see that she is physically doing well and hope that she continues to recover well, physically and mentally.
