Eagles of Death Metal have released their first statement since ISIS terrorists slaughtered scores of the band’s fans in Paris, and it is obvious how shell-shocked they are.
In a statement on the band’s official Facebook page, they expressed their shock and grief over the terrorist attack that occurred right in front of them, and say that all future performances have been canceled.
“While the band is now home safe, we are horrified and still trying to come to terms with what happened in France,” the group wrote. “Our thoughts and hearts are first and foremost with our brother Nick Alexander, our record company comrades Thomas Ayad, Marie Mosser, and Manu Perez, and all the friends and fans whose lives were taken in Paris, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones.
“Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris, and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together, with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion.
“We would like to thank the French police, the FBI, the U.S. and French State Departments, and especially all those at ground zero with us who helped each other as best they could during this unimaginable ordeal, proving once again that love overshadows evil.
“All EODM shows are on hold until further notice.
“Vive la musique, vive la liberté, vive la France, and vive EODM,” they finished.

They shared a symbol of recovery — a French flag with sign-language symbols of peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll — on Twitter.

Some fans who were at the ill-fated performance commented on the post, sharing their own terrible stories and vowing that the terrorists will never win.
“They tried to kill me and my wife while dancing in front of our favorite band, thankfully they failed,” wrote Maxime Douriens. “We saw what no one should have to see. Our thoughts are with everyone who lost their lives and their relatives. The healing can now begin, and it starts with listening to EODM again….”
Claude Pfieffer shared, “Hello I was there in The Bataclan, I have the chance to be just wounded, some friends are dead, it’s hard to realize that horror, especially when I remember how the first part of the show was very good and there was a so good atmosphere in the place, in a few seconds it was hell on earth! I hope you will in the next years come back to Paris, we have to win against fear and violence!”
Nicolas Levillain wrote, “Me and my wife were there. It was the best show ever until the f***ers got in. Though they took so many beautiful people from us there, they’ll never be able to reach the dearest things we hold on to : freedom, frienship [sic], love and good music.”
Lorelei Fisher shared harrowing details of her horrifying experience. “My boyfriend Michael Knodlseder, a man named Olivier and I could jump over your flycases stocked [sic] on the Left site of the stage. We hide there for over an hour hoping the killers wouldn’t find us. A bomb (YES, those bastards had bombs) exploded just beside us. The pilled [sic] up boxes and gear protected us from being shreded [sic] to pieces. In a way, our lives were saved because of you.”
