Lamar Odom is lucky to be alive after his overdose, but according to a new report, his quality of life will never be the same again.

Odom has a long journey to recovery, and although his health has improved over the five weeks he has been in hospital, he’s reportedly suffering from cognitive impairment, a source told People magazine.
“Lamar has made some progress, but his cognitive impairment is making life very challenging,” an insider told the publication, adding that Odom is unable to walk unaided and can barely communicate verbally.
Khloé Kardashian really stepped up during Odom’s health scare and has been there for her estranged husband, supporting him both at his bedside and behind the scenes. But, unfortunately, Odom will not be leaving hospital anytime soon.

“Lamar won’t likely leave the hospital for a long time,” the source said. “And when he does, he will need full-time care. He can’t take care of himself.”
Although, the source noted that Odom is “a fighter who works hard every day.” He is also glad to have the support of Kardashian and realizes just how fortunate he is. The source said, “With Khloé in his life, Lamar is very lucky. She has been amazing.”

However, the source also made an incredibly sad revelation about Odom, once a celebrated athlete, and the current state of his future.
“Lamar has serious long-term and lasting issues. His life will never be the same as it once was,” the source said.
