Kaley Cuoco doesn’t want any reminders of her marriage to Ryan Sweeting, especially not on her body.
Cuoco shared an Instagram photo of herself on Tuesday getting her wedding date tattoo covered. The tattoo marked the day she walked down the aisle with now ex-husband Ryan Sweeting with the roman numerals for the date Dec. 31, 2013.

In the photo, an open-mouth Cuoco is sporting some aviator sunglasses and red pants while a tattoo artist works on her exposed upper back.

“Thank you @nero_sct @studiocitytattoo for helping me right my wrongs..” Cuoco captioned the photo, adding, “note to self- do not mark your body with any future wedding dates #under30mistakes #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids”
She also shared a photo of the completed cover-up job, which is an image of a winged insect that appears to be a moth.

But this isn’t some metaphor about freedom and ringing in a new phase of life; rather, Cuoco explained she got the ink because it “covered the last one.” No “deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink” needed.

The couple fired for divorce in September, just shy of two years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. But sources speculate that Sweeting had an addiction to painkillers and wasn’t getting the help he needed.

A source previously told the Daily Mail, “She supported him but she said he couldn’t make the commitment to get sober.”
Not only has Cuoco erased her tattoo, she also dropped his surname and returned to her maiden name as well as deleted all traces of Sweeting from her Instagram. She even unfollowed him across all social media platforms.
