Let the celebration begin Girl Meets World fans, because it looks like Riley Matthews’ story will continue on past Season 2.
That’s right, the Disney Channel has officially ordered Season 3 of the spinoff of the ’90s hit Boy Meets World, according to The Wrap.
Fans of the series are excited, to say the least.

“Michael Jacobs has one of the most authentic voices in television today,” said Disney Channel exec Adam Bonnett of the Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World creator in a statement, via The Wrap. “He and the entire Girl Meets World team will not only continue to entertain families but also help kids discover who they are and who they want to be in this world.”

Season 2 marks the end of Rowan Blanchard’s Riley facing life head-on in middle school, and Season 3 will see her dealing with a whole new set of problems in high school. Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage will return as Riley’s parents, Topanga and Cory, and Sabrina Carpenter will also be back as Riley’s best friend, Maya Hart.
The renewal news comes as a huge relief to fans, especially after the Girl Meets World cancellation rumors that were circulating just a week before the show was signed on for a third season.

The rumors — which were supposedly based on statistics that showed the series had declined in ratings — are obviously bogus, but we already kind of knew that, considering Blanchard’s recent hints at what’s to come in Seasons 3 and 4.
“I think we all saw it coming. We just knew it was natural for the characters,” she said of the Riley/Lucas/Maya love-triangle storyline in an interview with TVLine. “If you go back in Season 1, there are certain lines that Lucas says to Maya or Maya says to Lucas… and it’s so obvious they have feelings for each other. I don’t know what’s going to happen in Season 3, but for me, this all feels so natural… Who knows, maybe we’ll be in exact opposite positions in our fourth season.”
