Following a very contentious split from Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey has found love again. She is deliriously happy these days, as she made clear during a recent interview with Steve Harvey.

Several months ago, Carey began appearing in public with James Packer, her new billionaire boyfriend. Although they’ve only been dating for a few months, they’ve known each other for quite some time. While chatting with Harvey, Carey admitted that she and her new beau met in Aspen. She explained, “We were at the Hercules premiere. We were talking and laughing… we hit it off.”
Harvey thinks that Packer is a lucky guy, but Carey feels that she’s the lucky one. Fans would be inclined to agree, especially after seeing the bling Carey had on display during her interview with Harvey. She showed off a fancy Van Cleef & Arpels necklace, which was a gift from Packer. Granted, a nice necklace is a drop in the bucket for someone so wealthy, but fans still believe it indicates that the relationship is getting serious.
She may have a new boyfriend and a new necklace to prove it, but Carey is still in contact with Cannon. The two are trying hard to keep their relationship amicable, as they want what’s best for their adorable children. Carey told Harvey that they spent Halloween together. “I had a party in LA. Nick came and we went trick-or-treating together. I thought it was important that [the kids] see their parents together.” Bling or no bling, Carey is one happy lady. She knows better than anyone how tough the entertainment industry can be on relationships, so she’s especially grateful to be in one that is going so well.

This emphasis on what’s best for the kids is nothing new for Carey. She admits that her life has not been the same since welcoming her twins into her life. Instead of simply focusing on her career, she now is constantly thinking about her kids. However, she feels very blessed to have a family that includes such adorable children.
It’s great to see Carey doing so well, and it’s also nice to know that she and Cannon are getting along. Hopefully, this harmony will continue throughout the holiday season and beyond, because the last thing Carey and Cannon’s kids need is to see their parents at odds with one another.
