Sunday is Once Upon a Time‘s Season 5 midseason finale. Seeing as it’s titled “Swan Song,” well, I can only imagine that means some dark and saddening times are ahead for Storybrooke. One thing fans will definitely see is Hook’s revenge plan on Rumple. That said, will his plan alongside the other Dark Ones really send Rumple to the Underworld?

Anything can happen, but according to Colin O’Donoghue, Hook is going to do everything in his power as the Dark One to ensure Rumple gets what’s been coming to him. As he told TVLine, “Because he has embraced the Darkness — not intentionally but because that’s who he is now — he has one overriding mission and that is to kill Rumplestiltskin, and he is willing to let the Darkness use him as a pawn and bring back all the other Dark Ones to do that, if it means he can send Rumple to the Underworld — and whoever else he’s willing to sacrifice.”

Well, that sure sounds ominous. Will Rumple and another character — or more — end up in the Underworld? At this point, I’m convinced at least one person will, because why else would it be titled “Swan Song”? If someone does travel to the Underworld where he/she might meet the “Distinguished Gentleman” that’s been heavily teased, it also might come at a price, aka Hook helping the other Dark Ones “snuff out the light.”

“Now, bringing [the Dark Ones] back from the Underworld, they exist as separate entities but their overriding mission is to snuff out the light,” O’Donoghue explained to TVLine. “Hook is willing to do that as well — and if he gets his revenge, that’s an added bonus!”
Sunday’s episode sure sound like it will be whopper, and until it airs, here’s a sneak peek to hold fans over.
