Stewart returned to The Daily Show in the perfect way on Monday night.
Stewart had a huge bone to pick with Congress and thought new host Trevor Noah might be able to help him out.

Noah was only too happy to help. Well, until he realized that Stewart’s return could mean bad things for him.
“I can’t believe it! This is awesome,” Noah said. “Oh, wait, wait, wait, shit. Are you here to take the show back? Oh man, I heard about this in American TV.”
But Stewart assured him that wasn’t the case. “Trust me — a thousand times no. I have this issue I care about very deeply and I was wondering — I want to get attention paid to it but I was realizing I don’t have a show, and nobody gives a shit anymore. So I thought, you have a show, and maybe I could come and…”
So Stewart took the spotlight, with his signature into-the-camera rant. The thing that had him so furious was Congress’ inability to renew the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 for first responders. The act was funded for five years and now that the time is up, Congress has failed make moves to continue the health-care funding.

Stewart is even so passionate about the funding for the first responders that he traveled to Washington, D.C., to shame senators before taking to The Daily Show once again to publicly denounce the inaction.
“The only conclusion that I can draw is that the people of Congress are not as good a people as the people who are first responders,” Stewart said.

And while it was so great to see Stewart’s face back on The Daily Show stage, the real question is, will his return be enough to spur action by Congress?
