Speaking via phone during an episode of Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, Foster opened up about her marriage and the “circumstances” that led to its downfall.
“We had a beautiful love story that I will treasure forever,” Foster said, according to Us Weekly. “Unfortunately, it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way.”
It has previously been reported that Foster’s struggle with Lyme disease put pressure on her marriage, and it might have ultimately been the cause of the split — a topic that Foster touched on during the interview.

“Chronic long-term illness is extremely challenging, not only for the person that’s sick but also for the caregiver,” Foster said. “It for sure changed the dynamic of our relationship.”
“The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability,” Foster confessed. “So rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shared in the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times.”
