Rossi and Smiley may not have tied the knot just yet, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t making plans for their future together.

Life & Style reports that Smiley has undergone a procedure to reverse his vasectomy so the couple, who is known for their appearances on The Real Housewives of Orange County, can one day have children.
“Gretchen and Slade want to have a family together, and they want to do it the old-fashioned way,” an insider told the outlet.
Smiley has two sons, Gavin and Grayson, from a previous relationship, while Rossi doesn’t have any children just yet.
The source added, “Slade thought he didn’t want more children until he fell in love with Gretchen. That changed his world.”

Rossi’s journey to have children is one that has been documented for years now. In September 2014, Rossi revealed that she and Smiley were planning on attempting in vitro fertilization to have a baby. Bravo reported at the time that the couple wanted at least one child before getting married.
“We already feel married and know we’re meant to be together for the rest of our lives,” Rossi explained. “It’d be pretty amazing to have our children at our wedding!”
“If we were 20 and had another two decades ahead of us, maybe we’d have a child and see how that goes,” Smiley added. “But as we begin to age, we want to make sure that we’ve done everything possible to ensure a healthy baby.”

And Rossi revealed Smiley has been with her every step of the way. “Actively pulling the trigger to make a baby is very powerful. You go through every step together. As I’m crying and putting in shots that are very painful, Slade is right there with me.”
Unfortunately, the two have yet to conceive as of now. But with Smiley’s vasectomy news, a bun in the oven could be happening very soon.
