The brother of reality star Kristin Cavallari has been found dead 11 days after his car was abandoned in a remote part of Utah.
Michael Cavallari had not been seen since stopping at a convenience store in the early morning hours of Nov. 27. His car was found off the road hours later, still running, with the airbags deployed — but he was nowhere to be found.
But sadly, Kristin just confirmed his body has been discovered.

“We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time,” Kristin Cavallari said in a statement to E! News. “We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”
The details of Michael’s death have not been released, but he was certainly troubled in the time leading up to his disappearance, insiders say.
Police in Dana Point, California, received a complaint from a woman who said she heard tapping on her door that “sounded like a piece of metal.” No one was there when she answered, but when she looked out of the window she allegedly “saw Michael with a shotgun pressed to his shoulder and the barrel raised parallel to the ground, aiming down the path” at her apartment, according to CBS News. The pair, whose relationship is unclear, had a verbal dispute several days earlier.

Just days before his disappearance, on Nov. 23 he was arrested with a loaded shotgun outside of the Dana Point City Hall and briefly held in county jail. A year earlier, he was found guilty of DUI and sentenced to three years’ probation, according to People.
“[Michael] was always a troubled kid and there was always drama with him,” a source told People. “He gave his parents a hard time. He’s completely opposite to Kristin, who is level-headed and business orientated.”
