RHOBH: 5 Reasons Erika Jayne is not the next Brandi Glanville

Tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills primarily focused on Erika Jayne, who has already been referred to as the new Brandi Glanville. The two seem to have a lot in common, but there are also several differences, a few of which are highlighted below:

1. She’s happily married

Some of the Housewives aren’t exactly, well, housewives. Granted, Glanville was once married — and that’s more than you can say for Kenya Moore. Also, Glanville, has kids. But she’s constantly highlighting her pursuits as a single lady, as are many of the franchise’s top ladies.

Conversely, Jayne is happily married to successful lawyer Thomas Girardi. He is the subject of much interest among RHOBH fans, many of whom have been quick to comment on the significant age gap between Jayne and her husband. Regardless of the age difference, Jayne is definitely a housewife, although she might not always act like one.

2. She’s already achieved a great deal of success in the entertainment industry

With the obvious exception of Lisa Rinna, most Beverly Hills Housewives fail to elicit any spark of recognition when they join the show’s cast. This was certainly the case for Jayne; several Twitter users claimed they knew nothing of the new cast member. However, many others are familiar with her music, which has been featured extensively on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart. Glanville, although accomplished in her own right (as a model, she was featured in the pages of several prominent magazines), had a much different career before joining RHOBH.

3. She’s not perpetually broke

Glanville is not afraid to admit money is the chief reason for her continued involvement with RHOBH. Jayne, on the other hand, doesn’t really need the extra cash. Her husband is best known for his involvement with the Erin Brockovich case, and, based on what viewers have seen of their home, the Girardis have plenty of money to spare.

4. She gets along with the other Housewives… or, at least, she does so far

Thus far, when the Housewives talk about Jayne, they are very positive. That’s bound to change as the season’s drama unfolds, but for now, she isn’t universally disliked.

5. She doesn’t strike fans as a pot stirrer

Everybody knows Glanville’s chief purpose on RHOBH is to stir the pot and cause drama. While there will surely be plenty of drama from Jayne, fans suspect there’s far more to her than meets the eye.
