Catelynn Lowell has reportedly confirmed that she has postpartum depression.
At a book signing in New York City, In Touch reports that Lowell opened up to a fan about her struggle following the birth of her daughter, Novalee, who is now 11 months old.

“I recognized it nine months after [Novalee] was born,” Lowell said. “It’s a daily struggle.”
She went on to say she has panic attacks, which she deals with by getting up and exercising. And her husband, Tyler Baltierra, has, of course, been there to support her.
Lowell, who stars on MTV’s reality show Teen Mom, is no stranger to speaking out about her struggles with depression and anxiety in the past.
During a 2014 interview, also with In Touch, Lowell explained that before getting treatment, “My depression and anxiety were so severe, I didn’t want to live another day.”

In fact, she contemplated suicide.
“I started having severe panic and anxiety attacks in the middle of the night, which led me into a deep depression,” Lowell said. “I couldn’t stop crying. I felt I’d be better off dead. I needed help.”
Thankfully, Baltierra recognized the signs of depression and got his then-fiancée, now wife the help she needed. He was the one who called a psychiatrist following one of Lowell’s reportedly terrifying breakdowns. Because of him, she was able to recognize her need for treatment.
Teen Mom is reportedly planning to discuss Lowell’s struggle with postpartum depression more in depth. Hopefully, the show can help reach other women who may be experiencing similar symptoms.

It’s unclear as of now if Lowell also experienced postpartum depression following the birth of her first child, Carly. She and Baltierra gave Carly up for adoption as they were just teenagers at the time of her birth.
