Anna Duggar is returning to television, and she’s tugging at our heartstrings.
In a new preview for Jill & Jessa: Counting On, Anna gets choked up discussing the emotional ramifications of her husband Josh’s lies.
She says, “It is such a betrayal for a spouse… It was hard to realize that it was such a public thing. It was not only a betrayal against me but it was a betrayal against those that call themselves Christian. Here we were as a Christian couple, and everyone was able to see us get married and to vow before God to be loyal to each other, and that loyalty was broken.”
“How could this happen in our marriage?” she asks.

Fans are wondering why Anna is even appearing on the show after everything the Duggar family has put her through. Is TLC paying her enough to make the potential humiliation worth it? Does she have to pay for Josh’s debts or his rehab fees while he is in treatment for his porn addiction?

During the first of the three-part series, Jill and Jessa enraged fans by seeming to focus more on the infidelity aspect of Josh’s indiscretions than the molestation. Judging by Anna’s word choice in the clip above, she seems to be framing the molestation the same way — as a man cheating on his wife, and not a man attacking young women in his own family. Whether that was a choice by TLC to avoid alienating viewers or the family’s way of framing a difficult subject, fans aren’t ready to let Josh off the hook.
