Joey & Rory Feek share sweet moment from their marriage with fans (VIDEO)

Joey and Rory Feek reminisced about last New Year’s in a Facebook post shared over the weekend.

On the couple’s shared Facebook page, they posted a sweet clip of themselves dancing in front of a Christmas tree with the caption, “We had a 1940’s themed New Year’s Eve last year in our barn. I dusted off my old uniform and my bride and I cut a rug to some big band music. Hoping for a long sweet slow dance this year.”

On the couple’s blogThis Life I Live, they document Joey’s battle with stage 4 cervical cancer and decision to stop treatment and go into hospice care. Although chemotherapy has been deemed ineffective, fans left encouraging comments for the New Year on the couple’s post. Fan Mair Newton said, “What a lovely memory! Here’s to a special dance this New Year’s Eve… and a miracle in the New Year!.” Earline Smith Crews wrote, “I hope you dance many more together and then cut a rug with little Indy someday.”

This weekend wasn’t just a stroll down memory lane for the couple. They made new holiday memories with their daughter, Indiana: Rory posted that they had a surprise holiday visit from Santa.

He shared a bit about the family’s holiday visit: “The Kris Kringle that showed up at our door wasn’t your ordinary shopping-mall Santa. This one was the real deal… or as close to it as I’ve ever personally seen. He had the real beard, the real belly, and on top of that he had the kindest smile and a heart for special babies and mama’s [sic] with no hair… I loved him from the moment I met him.”
