We knew Shamy’s coitus episode was just too good to be true, and now we have confirmation: It seems the beloved CBS series may actually be on its way out.
There’s no need to sound the alarms quite yet, as nothing is set in stone, but the TBBT bosses got very candid recently about the fact that there is a definite end in sight — and it’s probably coming in Season 10.
“The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point,” showrunner Steve Molaro told The Hollywood Reporter. “The real answer is I don’t know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can. There’s still so many episodes to go. Even if hypothetically season 10 was the end, I wouldn’t be focusing on that yet. That seems like something that would be dealt with way down the line.”

The Big Bang Theory cocreator, Chuck Lorre, gave a much more open-ended answer to the Season 10 question than Molaro, but he still didn’t give a hard “no” when asked if it will be the last.
“I never imagined nine [seasons] and here we are,” Lorre said to THR. “I’m not going to presume to know how many years this has because it’s ridiculous for me to guess. It’s already gone beyond my wildest dreams so anything beyond this… as long as everybody is having a good time and we’re making a show we’re proud of… then it’s worth continuing.”
Considering so many ongoing story lines have suddenly been coming to a close, fans began speculating about the fate of TBBT — even before Molaro hinted that Season 10 could be final curtains for the show.
@BigBang_CBS My reaction is more worry that the show is trying to work to an end. Trying to willingly do what happened to Frasier.

Shamy got physical, Penny and Leonard eloped, Raj finally ditched the booze and got a girlfriend. Are they all signs the writers are winding down? Was Sheldon and Amy’s coitus episode also the climax of The Big Bang Theory? Only time will tell.
