An arrest warrant has been issued for Bill Cosby in the alleged 2004 sexual assault of former Temple University employee Andrea Constand.

According to The Daily Mail, Cosby had been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Constand at his Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, home in Jan. 2004. Cosby previously claimed that what happened between him and Constand was consensual, but Constand claimed she was with a woman at the time and blasted Cosby for missing cues that she was gay.

Constand’s lawyer, Dolores Troiani, commented on the case, telling People magazine, “Obviously we appreciate the expression of confidence in her. We’ll have to see what happens. We hope justice will be done. We will cooperate fully.”
According to CNN, prosecutors reopened the case last summer, and on Wednesday the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said that Cosby had been charged with aggravated indecent assault in Pennsylvania. The charge is a felony, and if convicted, Cosby could face up to 12 years behind bars.

More than 40 women have come forward to publicly accuse Cosby of assault, but no criminal charges have been filed against him until now.
The statute of limitations to charge Cosby runs out in January, and he is expected to be arraigned later this afternoon in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, People reports.
UPDATE: Cosby was arraigned today in Pennsylvania and was ordered to surrender his passport after posting 10 percent of a $1 million bond. MSNBC has the video of him arriving to and departing from the court proceedings.
