Caitlyn Jenner will have one less worry in 2016

Caitlyn Jenner has one less lawsuit on her plate.

In February, Jenner was in a fatal car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, involving three cars. Jessica Steindorff, who was driving a Prius, sued Jenner for personal injury and property damage. This lawsuit, one of three, was settled, according to court documents obtained by E! News.

Luckily for Jenner, her insurance paid the settlement, so she didn’t need to pay it with any of her own money.

Unfortunately, the other two lawsuits haven’t yet been resolved. One involves the driver and passengers of the Hummer. The other lawsuit involved the two adult stepchildren of the deceased Lexus driver.

In September, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced it won’t press charges against Jenner for vehicular manslaughter or any other crime related to the fatal car crash.

No charges were brought because the “suspect [Jenner] was traveling at a speed slightly below posted speed limit and minimally slower than victim [sic]. Crime requires violation of misdemeanor or infraction. Only possible violation is a violation of the basic speed law. Crime also requires ordinary negligence. Based on the facts, cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect’s conduct was unreasonable.”

Jenner was driving a Cadillac Escalade while towing an off-road vehicle on a trailer behind it when she rear-ended a Lexus driven by Kimberly Howe. After being hit, the Lexus crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit again, this time head-on by a Hummer. Howe died at the accident scene.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Jenner said the day after the crash. “It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

It’s good news for one less lawsuit. Here’s hoping to quick and happy resolutions for all in 2016.
