Bill Cosby has a message for all his fans following sexual assault charge

On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Bill Cosby in relation to a 2004 case; the alleged sexual assault of Andrea Constand. Later that day, Cosby was arraigned and posted 10 percent of his $1 million bond.

And now for the first time since the encounter, he has spoken out and is breaking his social media silence with a short message for his fans.

Reactions to the tweet have been mixed and include outrage and disgust, as well as messages of support.

But it’s evident Cosby still has people in his corner.

After Cosby’s arraignment, his attorneys issued a statement, claiming the charge was “no surprise.”

According to E! News, it read, “The charge by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office came as no surprise, filed 12 years after the alleged incident and coming on the heels of a hotly contested election for this county’s DA during which this case was made the focal point. Make no mistake, we intend to mount a vigorous defense against this unjustified charge and we expect that Mr. Cosby will be exonerated by a court of law.”

Cosby has maintained his innocence, although if found guilty of the felony charges of aggravated indecent assault (stemming from this case), he could be facing several years behind bars.
