He’s come a long way from wearing a dress to prom: Jaden Smith is the new face of Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer 2016 womenswear campaign.
Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière shared some snaps from the new campaign on Instagram, both of which feature Smith in a skirt from the new collection.

Shot by Bruce Weber, the full Series 4 campaign appears in magazines in February, according to WWD. The campaign will be in mailboxes Tuesday for subscribers of Harper’s Bazaar in the U.K. Ghesquière told WWD that Smith manifests a generation “that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender. Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man’s trench or a tuxedo.”

He’s not the only unconventional star — the line also features Final Fantasy character Lightning. Ghesquière added that Lightning serves as the perfect avatar for a world where social networks are woven into our everyday lives.
Ever-popular Twitter user Smith is getting lots of love for the campaign from fans. One supporter wrote, “@officialjaden@i_D@LouisVuitton you better work. Work it boy. Do your thang. Strut for the camera.” [sic] Another got even more insightful with gender norms: “love this but its not women’s clothing its just clothing so proud of you j big inspiration.” [sic]
