The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards had a tough year in 2015, and 2016 looks to be an equally emotional year for her, as her ex-husband Monty Brinson’s journey is about “to come to an end.”

Richards is apparently rallying around Brinson in his hour of need (after he recently moved to an assisted living facility), and a source close to him told Entertainment Tonight that “nobody knows at this point how much longer he’ll last.”
“He seems to mentally be good most of the time, he is just on a lot of medication,” the source added.
But Richards is determined to show her support for Brinson and has reportedly been “by his side quite often,” the source said, adding that she is “at peace with Monty’s diagnosis.”

“Everyone has had a lot of time to be with Monty during all of this and had their time to process his illness,” the source continued. “Everyone is visiting Monty all the time, his family is always gathering around him.”
While Richards’ own health is improving and she seems to be on the road to recovery, Brinson’s health is failing. Yet despite his terminal illness, he has remained extremely positive and recently shared a heartfelt message on Instagram.
Posting a picture of Sylvester Stallone, Brinson captioned it with, “I’m proud of sharing my journey and it’s fab out to come to an end. I’m surrounded by love I will explain in my own words what’s going on, today I even been blessed to help a nurse who’s been depressed for days, Thats’s [sic] why I’m in such agreat [sic] mood cause a [sic] can still help oththers [sic] in my own condition i got plenty of love in my heart. I’m here for everybody. This might be my final resting place but I’m content explain [sic].”

The reaction to Brinson’s post has been overwhelmingly positive, and fans have sent him messages of encouragement.
Theoriginalsmh wrote, “God bless you Monty. May you find everlasting peace. Thank you for sharing your journey. I hope that you are greeted in heaven by the beautiful sound of beach music and that you will feel like your 20 year old self for eternity.”
And cindynic1961 was also left inspired by Brinson’s heartfelt post. She wrote, “Monty, it’s been such a pleasure reading your posts and seeing the genuine love and kindness that you’ve shown to everyone you’ve crossed paths with. You’re a special man, and I wish you peace, love and light.”
