7 Things to know about the cast of Nicholas Sparks’ film The Choice (VIDEO)

We love Nicholas Sparks for creating the best romantic novels of our time. His latest book, The Choice, about neighbors Travis and Gabby who fall in love in a coastal town, is coming to theaters in February. Here are some things you probably didn’t know about the cast.

1. The cast of The Choice became like family on set

According to The Choice director, Ross Katz, the cast of the film “hangs out together on weekends. It’s a real family environment.”

2. Teresa Palmer’s first acting jobs were less than glamorous

Palmer, who plays Gabby in The Choice, grew up in Australia. She first started acting when she dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake and Santa’s Helper at local shopping centers on weekends and holidays.

3. Teresa Palmer was supposed to be in Mad Max: Fury Road

Though Palmer was cast as one of the “Five Wives” in the Mad Max sequel that’s now nominated for an Oscar, she had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts.

4. Benjamin Walker recently married the actress from The Maze Runner

After a yearlong engagement, Walker married Kaya Scodelario over the holiday break. Scodelario announced their wedding on Instagram.

5. Benjamin Walker was briefly married to acting royalty

Walker, who plays Travis Parker in the film, married actress Mamie Gummer in 2011, but sadly, the couple divorced in 2013. Gummer is the daughter of actress Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer.

6. Maggie Grace and Liam Neeson played a prank on Grace’s ex

Grace plays Stephanie Parker in The Choice, but you many know her best for playing Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. While shooting Taken 3, Grace admitted to Neeson that she was feeling heartbroken over a young man. Neeson called him and gave him the speech his character Bryan Mills, the badass CIA agent, gives in the movies. Neeson told the man he had “skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.” Grace’s ex wasn’t intimidated, however; instead, he just thought it was cool. Grace became engaged to filmmaker Matthew Cooke in 2015.

7. One cast member is set to be the next Baywatch babe

Alexandra Daddario plays Monica in The Choice, but she got her first acting role when she was just 16, playing Laurie Lewis All My Children from 2002 to 2003. But her next role could be a game changer — she’s set to star in the upcoming reboot of the Baywatch franchise in 2017.
